SSN Validation

SSN Validation is a very simple, yet incredibly effective tool for a landlord renting out his income property. Let's say Mary Higgins applies for your vacancy, and you check her credit. When the credit report comes back clean, in the past, that has been good enough, right? What about a criminal record report? Clean. It's settled -- you rent her the apartment.

Too bad you didn't do a SSN Validation on Mary Higgins as well. She may have been born in Boulder, CO, but if you had done that SSN Validation, then you would have found Mary Higgins is using Carol Barbary's Social and it was issued in Florida! If you had prior knowledge of Mary using someone else's SSN, would you rent that same property to her? I didn't think so...
